Why Would You Want a Vibrating Mascara?

I took the title for this blog directly from the Oprah Daily Quote subject line.

Hey, it had the word "Why" in it, so I HAD to!

That, and it's a great teaser.

Well, actually it's NOT a teaser...It's the real deal.
According to
Jenny Bailly, the "pulsating motion of these wands is supposed to eliminate clumps and coat each lash all the way around for more fullness."

Pictured here are Estée Lauder TurboLash All Effects Motion Mascara ($30, right) and Lancôme Oscillation ($34, left). No, I don't get a "freebie" for this plug...

Just the satisfaction of using the title...
And finding out why YOU would want a vibrating mascara?!?!

As someone who can stab herself in the eye with a stationary mascara wand, I can only imagine what I'd do with one that vibrates.

Braille, anyone?

It sounds dangerous to me...and messy. I can see little black spatters all over my white blouse.

Don't get me wrong. I'm all for things that vibrate, but not near my eyes...you know, like chairs and such.

Have you seen "Charlie Wilson's War" where Julia Roberts takes an open safety pin to her lashes to "unclump" them?!?!

Yikes! Makes vibrating mascara sound a bit less dangerous.

Thanks for stopping by, ladies. Always a pleasure to hear from you!

I gotta say, this sounds a bit too much for me! Okay, I'm old, grumpy, and don't take kindly to new gadgets and thing-a-ma-gigs. In fact, I'm still not a fan of electric car windows. The old roll it down yourself idea was fine with me. But, this? If you don't even have the strength to apply mascara without assistance, how lazy can you get?!

Eileen, you are hilarious!

Also, you are FAR from old and grumpy...I've not met you (yet) face to face, but I hear in your voice how youthful you are...

The gadget I have most trouble with? Toenail clippers!

Yep. Gotta stick with little manicure scissors. How to get my little toenails between those metal jaws without clipping off the end of my toe!!! It's just beyond me...
